Title: Inclusive Data Charter Coordinator (8 month fixed term contract)

Location: Haywards Heath, UK

Salary: Circa £32k

This is a unique and exciting new role, helping to develop and establish the Inclusive Data Charter (IDC) at the centre of the process to ensure that the world Leaves No One Behind in efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The post holder will work closely with government, multilateral, civil society and private sector IDC champions, building up to their signing up to the charter and developing action plans to bring that commitment to life. The post holder will play a major part in planning IDC events in cooperation with partners, including a launch event at the High Level Political Forum in July 2018.

The successful candidate will possess substantial experience in strategy, advocacy and/or communications in development and have a proven track record of coordinating with stakeholders across sectors and geography. The ability and experience of creating and maintaining relationships from a wide variety of organisations, along with knowledge of sustainable and international development goals, or work with marginalized groups, is also required. Knowledge of data, evidence and statistics in the development sector would be an advantage.

The post will be hosted by Sightsavers, (please see here for more information on the charter) but will work closely with the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD) and DFID as the co-facilitators of the Charter process.

The GPSDD is a fast-growing, dynamic international partnership bringing together over 300 different organizations including governments, UN agencies, private companies, civil society organizations, and many others. We make connections and broker partnerships to address the problems of gaps in data production, poor data use, access, quality, and to work with stakeholders to fully harness the new opportunities of the data revolution in the service of sustainable development. We aim to link and align action, capacities and resources across geographies, sectors and data communities.
