Technical Accounting Manager 

Our client is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, which works in the public interest. Their mission is to develop Standards that bring transparency, accountability and efficiency to financial markets around the world. Their work serves the public interest by fostering trust, growth and long-term financial stability in the global economy. 

The Foundation is a stimulating and challenging place to work. They have around 150 staff, mainly based in London, drawn from nearly 30 nationalities covering roles in technical accounting, operational and support functions. 

Position: Technical Accounting Managers 
Location: London (within walking distance of Mansion House underground station, moving to Canary Wharf in August 2018) 
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 hours per week 
Salary: competitive, dependant on experience

About the Role: 

They are looking for experienced technical accountants to join their staff, particularly those with experience of—or interest in—topics within the Board’s current areas of focus or research pipeline. 

Role responsibilities include: 

-Develop technical proposals for consideration by the International Accounting Standards Board, and facilitate the Board’s decision-making on issues identified. 
-Act as a credible and authoritative representative of the Board by consulting with a wide range of external stakeholders 
-Prepare a range of documents for internal and external use. 
-Manage committees and working groups. 
-Manage technical administrative matters. 


About You: 

To be considered for this role previous experience of applying or interpreting their standards or other GAAP is required, preferably in a technical accounting or accounting policy role. 

Strong analytical and numerical skills and the ability to ability to understand complex financial reporting issues is essential. 

You will have excellent skills in spoken and written English communication, and particularly the ability to write and present findings clearly and concisely. 

A strong team ethic, with the facility to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals at all levels is essential. 

You will need to have a high degree of integrity and professionalism, and a commitment to the organisation’s objectives and to the ideals of standard-setting in the public interest. 

You may have experience of the following: Technical Accountant, Accounting Policy, GAAP, Financial Reporting, Regulator, Accountancy, CFA etc.
