A great opportunity has arisen for a Communications Officer for a national charity in order to support the communications team in delivering flexible, cost effective and class-leading marketing & digital communications to enable the charity achieve its objectives across campaigns, fundraising and policy by achieving targeted and effective profile in a variety of media and through the delivery of quality marketing communications. This will be a permanent role based in London.
Key Responsibilities will include:
To proactively explore opportunities for appropriate marketing (digital and hard) activity and establish effective links to raise the profile of the organisation both nationally and regionally.
To liaise with external suppliers of communications and marketing services, as required.
To produce in house a range of marketing materials including leaflets and brochures using IN Design programme.
To contribute to the development of high standards of service to internal stakeholders
To help the Senior Communications Officers to produce quality on-brand marketing materials often to tight deadlines
To build effective networks with colleagues and provide advice and expertise to staff regarding all aspects of their public profile.
To explore potential new platforms for the charity to engage in and from
To contribute ideas and help identify relevant tools and tactics to deploy as necessary to enhance communications (cases studies, celebrity, articles, quotes, memes, posts and comments)
To monitor, evaluate and report on all activity
Assist areas, training schools and units with the setting up and maintenance of their websites. To provide support in maintaining those sites.
To work with the Senior communication officer (Media PR and Social) manage the development and maintenance of the social media channels
Assist in providing marketing materials and support to the fundraising department in connection with the preparation of specific fundraising events;
To assist with any other ad hoc tasks and projects within the Department.
In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
Experience in a similar role
Experience in developing and maintaining good working relations with the suppliers.
Excellent written and verbal skills with good attention to detail
Understanding of the basic principles of marketing and communications
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal representations.
Knowledge and competence in Microsoft Office applications.
