Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.
The International Programme Engagement team operates as the hub of technical expertise on Unicef programmes, providing Unicef UK colleagues with information, assets and intelligence on and around Unicef programmes and the wider international development agenda.

As Programme Information Specialist, you will lead on the development and monitoring of policies and procedures relating to safe overseas programme travel, with a particular focus on child safeguarding and security management; promoting and supporting effective implementation by Unicef UK teams. You will provide expertise to other teams on Unicef’s programme work to support delivery against fundraising, advocacy and communications objectives, ensuring that any initiatives align with Unicef’s programme priorities and programmatic approach.

To succeed, you will have experience of influencing and negotiating within large, complex organisations in the public, private or charity sectors. You will also have experience of risk management as it relates to international travel, and you should have a good knowledge of current international development and humanitarian issues. Experience of working in an international development agency field office/country office would be considered an asset.

Closing date: 5pm, Wednesday 18 April 2018.
Interview date: Tuesday 1 May 2018.

This role is currently based in Farringdon.  From Summer 2018, Unicef UK will relocate to Stratford (zone 2).  Our new offices will be close to the new Crossrail station and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Stratford is also served by the Jubilee and Central Lines, DLR, London Overground, TFL Rail and National Rail services.

We welcome applications from a diverse range of people, respecting and drawing on different perspectives, skills, experience and knowledge.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for a criminal records check. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. This will depend on the nature of the role and the circumstances of your offences.

We only accept online applications as this saves us money, making more funds available for us to help ensure children’s rights. CVs will not be accepted.

If you require support in completing the online form or an application form in an alternative format, please contact Supporter Care on 0300 330 5580 during office hours.

If you do not hear from us within 14 days of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please note that we only provide feedback to shortlisted candidates.
