About the role: 

The role of Brand Manager sits within the Brand team within the wider Brand Marketing team (which comprises Brand, Design and Digital Engagement). The team is leading a refresh project for the hospital brand, with launch and implementation from late Spring 2018. 

This maternity cover role will lead the roll out of the refreshed brand to the 4,500 staff at the hospital, deliver brand campaigns for our client and help build the brand for Sparks (the children's charity that works in partnership with our client). Another charity partnered with our client in early 2017 and retains its own brand identity with our clients Charity family. 


- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across both organisations so that you establish yourself as the go-to expert for advice and guidance on all things brand related 
- Manage the internal launch and roll out process of the refreshed hospital brand by working closely with the Internal Communications team to develop a process to engage and embed the brand with the 4,500 staff across the hospital 
- Ensure the brand project delivers to the specified success measures through this process 
- Grow the charity brand by working with the wider Brand Marketing team, Communications team, and external agencies to develop and deliver a charity brand-response campaign 
- Evaluate and share learnings to feed into brand planning for 2019 / 20. Seek to measure the impact of brand-response activity on fundraising income (to demonstrate halo effect) 
- Support the internal launch and roll out of the refreshed Sparks brand. Develop a toolkit of assets for fundraising teams and work closely with them to develop communications and collateral in line with the new brand guidelines 
-Work with the Sparks Digital Content Producer to review and update the website and social media channels to reflect the refreshed brand 
- Work collaboratively with teams across the charity to strengthen perceptions of the value of brand and the impact of activity on their brand targets: 
- Work with charity fundraising teams to ensure the brand objectives are being delivered through their campaigns and communications. 
- Support fundraising teams to shape and commission research projects with external agencies as and when required 
- Monitor and report monthly on the charity’s brand health and performance through their brand tracking tools. Use tracking data to review the charity brand strategy as part of the annual planning process 
- Regularly monitor competitor activity / initiatives and broader brand trends and share insights and ideas with the Brand Marketing and Communication teams to strengthen brand impact 

Essential Skills / Experiences: 

- A solid understanding and experience of brand strategy and brand management, including championing the value of brand and implementation of brand guidelines 
- A confident and persuasive ability to develop solid relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels 
- Evidence of a collaborative working style 
- Evidence of Project management skills 
- Experience of managing successful brand / marketing campaigns incl. developing structured marketing plans with clear objectives, KPIs, a defined target audience, shaping messaging, measurement, evaluation and reporting 

Desirable Skills / Experiences: 

- Experience of fundraising or marketing in the not-for-profit sector is highly desirable 
- Experience of working in or with the UK health sector 
- A relevant marketing qualification 
- Experience of effectively training people internally on brand guidelines.
