Circa £27,000 per annum (depending on skills) Plus £2000 Car Allowance, Home Working Payment and Benefits

Our client is a dynamic and ambitious 18,000 unit Housing Association based in Bedford and operating throughout the Oxford to Cambridge growth corridor. The organisation employs 400 people, has an annual turnover in excess of £120m and a development programme that will see it build around 3,000 new homes over the next five years making it one of the top 25 of developing associations.

They are currently seeking a Housing Officer (known internally as Home Agent) to work from home to provide tenancy and neighbourhood management services for a specified patch within the Cambridgeshire and St Neots area. You will also be required to spend time within your designated patch working with customers and other agencies. Within this role you will be responsible for ensuring that tenancies are managed appropriately according to the circumstances of the household, making referrals and signposting for support as necessary; regularly reviewing tenants circumstances, making recommendations with regards to future housing options and advising tenants of options, enabling them to make informed choices at the end of their tenancies. You’ll also work to reduce debt owed in rent and service charges; manage cases of antisocial behaviour and manage any breaches of tenancy or lease agreements that may arise, taking action as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have worked within a similar housing or neighbourhood role previously and will be knowledgeable about housing legislation. You’ll have experience of dealing with people in difficult, often stressful, situations and you’ll ideally have some knowledge of debt management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must as is the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and work with minimal supervision. Experience of lone working would be advantageous and you must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

If you’re committed to providing a customer focussed service, can influence and negotiate and deal with confrontation in a calm and professional manner then our client would love to hear from you.

In return we offer a generous benefits package.

The closing date for this role is Monday 9 April 2018

Interviews will be held Monday 16 April 2018
