A great opportunity has arisen for a Campaigns and Outreach Officer for a health related charity in order to develop and lead multi-layered campaigns that seek to capture the imagination of supporters and the attention of campaign targets. Campaign and Outreach Officer will motivate supporters to get involved at all levels of campaign planning; and sustain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from local pensioner groups to government ministers.

Key Responsibilities will include:

To develop and lead Charity s campaigning and lobbying initiatives on a local, London wide and national level.
To craft imaginative multi-layered campaigns that utilise a range of techniques from e-campaigning to direct action.
To ensure that disabled and older members are involved at all levels of our campaign work including setting up and facilitating a campaigns planning group made up of members.
To work with colleagues and ensure that campaign messages are effectively and persuasively communicated using charity s social media platforms, websites and its communications networks as a whole.
To grow the charity s sphere of influence amongst politicians, transport commissioners and the wider transport industry through organising regular meetings, trips with members, briefings and other lobbying initiatives.
To grow the charity s contact with groups, forums and organisations representing deaf, disabled and older people across London through conducting regular outreach visits to meetings and speaking about campaigns.
To work with colleagues to raise the profile of accessible transport issues in the local, London wide and national media through maintaining charity s journalist database and regularly pitching stories to print, on-line and TV news outlets so to maximise publicity of campaigns and transport access issues.
To develop research and write relevant campaign documents including reports, consultation responses and briefings.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Experience of creatively organising or contributing significantly to projects, events or campaigns with notable results
Experience of setting goals and targets and achieving them
Experience of involving and mobilising varied stakeholders (for example members / supporters) to achieve common objectives
Ability to think creatively and apply this to projects and initiatives.
An ideas person who enjoys coming up with new ways of working
Excellent writing skills and the ability to write clearly and persuasively
Ability to support and develop local campaigners
Excellent inter-personal, negotiating and listening skills
Proven ability to use own initiative to tackle problems and find solutions
