Prospectus is currently supporting an Armed Forces charity that provides approximately £5m of charitable support annually to the serving forces worldwide. Grant applications range from a few hundred pounds to multi-million pound capital projects.
The organisation is currently seeking to recruit a highly organised and self-motivated Grants Officer to play a central role in the development and delivery of a cohesive and effective grant making programme.
Working as a member of a small team, the Grants Officer will work closely with the Head of Operations, Grants Committee, Grants Assistant and grant beneficiaries to develop, support and administer the grant making programme.
The successful applicant will have experience of working in the charitable sector, possess financial and business planning acumen and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the grant making process. The right individual will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working on their own initiative.
The Grants Officer will be based at the charity's offices near High Wycombe. The role will involve the line management of the Grant Assistant and will also involve travel, both within the UK and occasionally overseas. A full clean UK driving licence is essential for this position.
Due to the nature of the position it will be necessary to obtain Security Clearance and Disclosure and Barring Service criminal record checks prior to the successful applicant being offered employment.
