One in six people in the UK will have a disability in their lifetime and we want to make sure they have the opportunity to live their lives to their full potential.

Leonard Cheshire is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of services for disabled people.  Our services include high-quality care and community support to together with innovative projects in the UK and internationally supporting disabled people into education, employment and entrepreneurship.  In 2017 we launched our new strategy to radically improve the life choices of people with disabilities, articulating our aim to support journeys towards independence.

Leonard Cheshire is rolling out our community engagement model, developing grass-root community partnerships and programmes to maximise choice and opportunities, integrating disabled people in communities and facilitating people to live, learn and work as independently as they choose.

You will support and develop a range of health, wellbeing, sport and cultural activities and lead on the delivery of innovative programmes in areas including social enterprise, volunteering and employment.

Bringing your experience of managing a range of community-based services and projects, you will have knowledge and experience of working with fundraising colleagues to secure funding from a range of sources across the private, public and voluntary sectors.  You will bring experience of leading geographically dispersed teams of staff and volunteers, of working with customers who have physical and / or learning disabilities and bring both budgetary and strategic partnership experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to communities by leading teams of staff and volunteers to enhance the opportunities and choices for disabled people in their community.

If you share a commitment to the values and ethos of our charity, we look forward to hearing from you.
