Job Ref: 18\039

Recently our policy research has resulted in changes which have made a real difference to those who rent privately and those living in social care. It’s helped people applying for a job, and those needing to apply for welfare benefits. And has given people information about their broadband choices and how they can use their phone abroad.

You can find out more about how we achieve change through our policy research here.

As a member of our policy research team, you will work across different policy areas, using a wide range of research methods and creating outputs including blogs, reports, presentations and events. Our strong brand will give you unique opportunities to engage with those who have the power to make change. You will feed into our work influencing policy makers such as parliamentarians, the civil service, regulators and industry and you will work closely with our world-class news, campaigns, public affairs and data teams.

We are looking for exceptional individuals with good research and communication skills, curiosity, and ambition to achieve real change on behalf of our clients and consumers. Relevant professional experience is not essential for these roles, but a demonstrable interest in and understanding of the policy landscape is vital.

One of the Policy Research Assistant roles will focus on the support we offer around research and campaigns to our network of Local Citizens Advice offices.

We will be running an optional pre-application webinar on the week commencing 19th March for people who would like to know more about this role. We particularly encourage you to sign up if you are BAME, disabled, aged 40+ or face disadvantages in beginning a career in policy research. The webinar will cover what policy research is, what it’s like to work in these roles and what we are looking for in candidates.

Citizens Advice values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, as they are currently under represented in our workforce.
