Location: London 
Job Type: Full Time, 12 months Fixed Term Contract 
Hours: 35 hours per week 
Salary: £31,679 per annum

About the role: 

Could you be part of Team Young Lives? 

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Media and PR Officer to join their busy Media and Engagement team. 

As Media and PR Officer, you will take lead responsibility for specific areas of media work in key areas of their policy, campaign and fundraising work – developing innovative communications plans, producing creative stories and writing compelling copy that raises awareness of the charity and childhood cancer. You must be great at building strong relationships with journalists, editors, researchers and programme makers at all levels of the media. 

Responsibilities include: 

Developing and delivering creative, effective PR and communications plans for campaigns and projects. 

Gathering stories and identifying opportunities to place news and feature stories on the Charities activities, campaigns, and services. 

Writing press releases, features, articles, opinion pieces and statements; ensuring these reflect their values and key messages. 

Organising and attending PR events, photo calls and opportunities. 

Developing real life stories based on the experience of children and young people, and their families. 

You may have experience of the following: Media Officer, PR, Public Relations, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Social Media, Press Officer, Journalist, Journalist, Media Relations, Marketing Communications, Marcomms, PR Officer, Voluntary Sector etc.
