Our client is a mental health charity. They’re here to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support. They provide a range of support services across Oxfordshire from an information line to supported housing. With one in four people experiencing a mental health problem at some point in their lives, people need them more than ever.
They are looking for a Physical Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator to provide support and advice to anyone who is struggling with their mental health and would like to get more physically active.
Position: Physical Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator
Hours: 37 Hours per Week (Part Time / Job Sharing Would Be Considered)
Salary: £24,174 - £27,668 per annum (Salary Scale Point 27 - 31)
Contract: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Holidays: 28 Days Plus Bank Holidays (Per Annum)
Reporting to: Wellbeing Service Manager
Place of Work: Oxford
About the role
This will involve working with service users to identify and break down barriers that prevent them from engaging in Physical Activity. The post holder may then work with the service user to set goals, signpost them to relevant activities, or support service users to engage in physical activity. The role may include providing direct support to individuals and groups, and also co-delivering fitness and wellbeing educational courses.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the importance of physical activity and the benefits that exercise can have on both mental and physical health. The candidate will also have the skills required to encourage, empower and support individuals to engage in physical activity as a tool to support their own wellbeing. This is an exciting role within the Wellbeing team, and an excellent opportunity to support individuals to engage in positive activities that will help support their mental health.

They employ over 100 staff and operate in 28 locations around the county, providing support to around 20,000 people each year.
The services they provide include:
- Transitional Supported Housing Recovery Service as part of the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership
- Wellbeing Service
- Talking Space psychological therapy service in partnership with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust
- ‘Benefits for Better Mental Health’, a welfare benefits advice service
- Information line
- Volunteering & peer support opportunities
