One of the world’s pre-eminent independent schools, Eton College blends a distinctive heritage and proud traditions with an innovative, forward-looking approach to providing a first-class boarding education to over 1,300 boys aged 13 to 18.
The College now seeks an outstanding Development Director with the fundraising expertise, leadership and organisational capabilities, energy and ambition to help ensure that Eton is able to deliver its bold educational vision now and in the future. Working closely with the Provost and Head Master, the new Development Director will oversee a development function capable of raising significant funding for the College’s bursary programme, new sports facilities, and other projects.
The appointee will have a track record of success in leading a development function for a similarly high profile and ambitious organisation, not necessarily within the education sector. He or she will offer first rate strategic and managerial abilities, excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to advocate Eton’s vision persuasively to major donors. Candidates must have an authentic resonance with Eton’s values, including commitment to excellence.
