Director of Fundraising
Too many young people become homeless every year. Of those who do, too many are not learning, earning or doing both at the same time. Government financing is uncertain, and the safety net of welfare is creaking. The shortage of housing has become a crisis, especially for young people.
Centrepoint is passionate about seeing what young people can be. We see potential rather than limitations and we believe that, with our help, young people will realise their ambitions. Our vision is to end youth homelessness and our immediate goal is to ensure every young person leaves us with a job and a home.
This is a very exciting time to join us. Centrepoint is enterprising, always thinking about how to improve and, our work and influence is growing nationally.
We have a relentless drive, commitment and resilience to take on the wider challenges surrounding youth homelessness: enabling homeless young people to have a safe and secure place to live; empowering them to gain skills and access jobs; and helping them to move into affordable homes. Our Director of Fundraising will secure the income we need to fully realise these goals, and work collegiately and proactively with the Senior Executive Team to raise the profile of youth homelessness and Centrepoint.
We already have a talented team of entrepreneurial and innovative fundraisers who have delivered amazing results in each of the last few years. They are keen to maximise new opportunities to grow our income and this is where you come in. You will take overall responsibility for our fundraising, bringing vision, external insights and leadership to their work, and supporting them to develop and perform as highly as possible while ensuring that our values are at the heart of all that we do.
You are a highly experienced, strategic leader with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of delivering leading-edge, innovative fundraising at a senior level. You possess significant line management experience, and a warm, compassionate personality, able to gain trust and develop strong, collaborative and effective relationships with a diverse range of people. Importantly, you share our unwavering belief in every young person’s potential.
