Trustee - up to one day per month
Trustee – up to one day per month
We are Access – The Foundation for Social Investment.
Our aim is to make charities and social enterprises in England more financially resilient and self-reliant, so that they can sustain or increase their impact.
We do this through supporting the development of enterprise activityand improving access to social investment. We have three strands to our work:
- Supporting a broad range of enterprise development activities to help charities and social enterprises earn more of their own income and, where required, utilise social investment to further stimulate that activity
- Managing and promoting blended finance models which bridge the gap between charities and social enterprises on one side and social investors on the other.
- Sharing the learning from how these programmes work.
We are seeking one new Trustee to join the Board as we continue to extend our reach and impact. Your skill set and experience will enable you to contribute strategically to both the development and achievement of Access’ mission, and to effectively promote Access in the social sector. We are particularly looking for someone with extensive leadership experience in charities and social enterprises; ideally, but not necessarily, someone who has raised investment previously.
The Access Trustees are accountable for the governance and direction of the Foundation; for building its reputation; and for driving its success. First class communication and interpersonal skills, unquestioned integrity and a deep commitment to achieving lasting social impact will be essential. In return, this appointment offers an unrivalled opportunity to play a leading role in the development of social investment in the UK and, by example, beyond.
