The Royal Star & Garter Homes marked its centenary last year. The Charity delivers unparalleled levels of specialised nursing and cutting edge dementia care in two Homes fit for the 21st century. Currently building a third new Home, our capacity to offer care to veterans and their spouses will be increased to 196, including award winning dementia care for 71 residents. With a new look but the same pioneering spirit, The Royal Star & Garter Homes continues the legacy of care which began in 1916.
The Governors take pride in guiding and leading the Charity, bringing a diverse portfolio of expertise to the Board. We are now recruiting to replace those who have completed their tenure and planning for succession over the next five years. The immediate area of expertise required is a senior level background in investment management for charities. Ideally candidates will have exposure to managing substantial funds on behalf of charities, or significant experience at trustee level acting in a similar role.
Candidates should be strategically minded, able to work as part of a professional team, and willing to challenge decisions and ideas in a constructive manner. A commitment to attend a minimum of six meetings per year, working with existing Governors to achieve agreed strategic goals to ensure the continued success of The Royal Star & Garter Homes is essential.
