ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • 12 month maternity cover contract to start mid-January 2018
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 35 hours per week
  • Based in Oval, London
  • £57,549 to £62,547 per annum (inc. London weighting) depending on experience 

Every year nearly 62,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK; that’s the equivalent of 170 people every day.

We are looking for an inspirational and strategic communications and marketing professional.  This is 12 month maternity cover contract and we are looking for an outstanding communicator with a proven track record.  It is a high profile role and you will need bags of energy and a real passion to make a difference for people affected by breast cancer.  We have an ambitious strategy which will see us grow in terms of our reach, impact and income generation.

The Assistant Director has strategic and operational responsibility for all aspects of our external and internal communications, marketing, brand management and celebrity, patron & ambassador relationship management.  This role calls for impeccable management, leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to quickly grasp the complex issues that surround breast cancer.

You will lead on the delivery of our communications and marketing activity and brand embedment programme.  Our services depend on the success of our fundraising and marketing activity.  Last year we reached an estimated 5.4 million people through our services, helping them to live a better life with breast cancer.  But we absolutely can’t rest on our laurels because every day we hear people say that they wished they’d heard about us sooner.
