Pancreatic cancer is a tough one but we’re taking it on. We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer, and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight.
The Events Manager will be working closely with the Head of Mass Market Fundraising to review current fundraising events, build upon successes and assist with strategic planning and delivery for the team. Experience and knowledge of the fundraising function as well as the drive and ambition to increase income for the charity are essential. Responsible for a fundraising target of £2.2 million per annum, you will manage the sporting events programme with line management of staff (currently two), exploring new opportunities within this and reviewing current activities, and help develop the long-term plans and direction of the portfolio. The post will also support the Head to develop strategies for how the events programme complements the community fundraising strategy.
You will have relevant experience in fundraising event management in the charity sector with a track record of meeting income targets and generating new income. You will have strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, be an excellent organiser with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage budgets. You will have experience of line management and be a competent user of CRM packages, ideally Raiser’s Edge.
Due to the nature of our fundraising events, a full clean driving licence is essential for this role.
