The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets together with personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society.  Working with our staff, cadets and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

We currently have a vacancy for a Volunteer Support Administrator to work in our Eastern Area Office, located within RAF Cranwell. 

The responsibilities of the post include maintaining the records of adult volunteers in the Sea Cadet Corps, providing support to them around this, and providing general administrative assistance.  This role demands a proactive and effective administrator with sound experience of office administration and systems, capable of working both as part of a small team and alone when required.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate easily and effectively with a wide range of people and will be self-motivated and prepared to have a hands-on flexible approach. A natural empathy for volunteers is essential.

A sound understanding of clerical procedures and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential, as is experience of inputting and managing data from databases.  Attention to detail is expected with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines, exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

This is a permanent contract, and is a full-time role based on a working week of 35 hours. The leave entitlement is 20 days per annum plus public holidays.
