Senior Information, Advice and Guidance Officer
To provide effective sign-posting, information, advice and support to patients, service users, carers and relatives on a wide range of issues including; rights and choices, expectations, care pathways, complaints, safeguarding etc.
To research and trouble shoot any number of issues relating to health and social care services.
To support members of the public to articulate their issues andachieve realistic outcomes by providing relevant information and advice and / or assisting in achieving a local resolution.
This is a challenging role that requires contact with a wide range of people, including service users, staff, volunteers and various professionals from the voluntary, statutory and private sectors.
This is a senior position and the post-holder is expected to be able to independently formulate advice and guidance and strategies for pursuing local resolution using a wide variety of information sources and in consultation with other advisors and subject experts.
The post-holder must have excellent communication skills, an ability to grasp complex information, an ability to formulate views on an appropriate course of action and tenacity to follow through on complex and sometimes frustrating situations.
