Finance Director (Part-time) - Age UK Camden - £45-50k pro-rata
TPP Recruitment are proud to be partnering with Age UK Camden in the recruitment of a part-time Finance Director. The role is permanent and will be offered on a 3 day per week (21 hours per week basis).
Age UK Camden is busy and friendly charity providing a range of services and support to older people in the London borough of Camden. Age UK Camden is an independent community focused organisation responsible for raising its own funds. Group turnover is approximately £3.1 million and staff numbers are around 80. Services include digital inclusion initiatives, information & advice, dementia and care services. There are also two subsidiaries associated with the charity, one providing local services in the Camden area to disabled people, the other to LGBT older people across London.
The organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Director / Head of Finance for a crucial role, reporting directly to the CEO. Predominantly finance, the role will involve managing one full-time finance officer, along with one part-time member of staff, and the successful applicant will have overall responsibility for the charity and its subsidiaries' operational and strategic financial management. The role will also involve some basic coverage of other areas of corporate resources: IT and company secretarial.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience managing a finance function in a small or medium sized charity. It is important that applicants have good knowledge of the charity SORP and can maintain an element of "hands-on" accounting to partner with the more strategic duties. The accounting system used is Sage 200, and Sage but not necessarily specifically 200 experience would be useful. Ideally applicants will be a fully-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), however applications are welcome from part-qualified candidates with relevant experience.
Typical duties in the role will include, but are not limited to: Preparing monthly and year-end accounts for the charity and subsidiaries, preparing annual budgets,, liaising with the auditors, advise on financial risk, monitor and improve financial policies and procedures, advise on IT strategy and procurement and to assist the CEO with company secretarial and other board level duties.
