Sessional Youth Workers are required to support our existing team of youth workers to work with a broad and diverse range of young people to promote and advocate the positive development of personal and social skills through informal educational.
As an experienced youth worker you will support a number of youth work programmes designed to promote engagement, create opportunities for informal learning and offer experiences that are fun, challenging and safe to young people through centre based youth work, detached youth work, school and outdoor learning across different locations to reflect the service needs.
You will be able to improvise and be creative with a group of young people to ensure they receive the best experience and positive outcomes.
To apply for the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) sessional support role, you will have a focus on strengthening groups skills and experiences in preparation to complete all aspects of the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold. Experience of delivering the DofE will be expected alongside being an enthusiastic and engaging individual who can lead a group of young people.
For this post we require:
* Experience of youth work approaches to delivering DofE
* Confidence to engage and develop professional relationships
* Understanding of the issues young people face and operating within a delivery framework including safety, expedition work and motivating hard to reach young people
These posts are being offered as a part time permanent position based in a number of locations across Kingston and Richmond. The working hours for these positions will be on Mondays between 5.15 to 8.15pm
