Development Officer – Community Navigators Project
Do you enjoy working with charities, and speaking to a variety of different people on a day-to-day basis to improve health outcomes? Are you an effective communicator who is good at explaining new ideas to others?
The Care Forum is looking for a Development Officer to work on the Community Navigators Bristol Project. This project offers free signposting and support to older people who want to feel less isolated and more involved in their community.
Based at the Vassall Centre in Fishponds, Bristol with offices in Swindon, The Care Forum is a charity which specialises in health and social care, including the delivery of services to individuals, signposting and information, patient and public involvement, volunteer opportunities and voluntary sector infrastructure support.
The successful candidate will need to bring good communication skills and have a commitment to tackling health inequalities and promoting diversity.
You will be working closely with a range of partner agencies including Bristol Community Health, the Southville Centre, the Barton Hill Settlement and the North Bristol Advice Centre.
You will be networking with voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups in Bristol, and making sure that all relevant providers know about Bristol Ageing Better (BAB) services for older people, and the Community Navigators Bristol project. You will also help build the capacity of voluntary and community groups to work effectively to reduce social isolation for older people.
