Our client, a leading grant-making and social finance foundation who specialise in the arts, children and young people, environment, social change and food sectors is looking to recruit an outstanding Funding Administrator. The Foundation considers work which other organisations may find hard to fund, perhaps because it breaks new ground, appears too risky, requires core funding or needs a more unusual form of financial help. It also takes initiatives where new thinking is required or there is an unexplored opportunity. It is one of the largest independent funding organisations in the UK, with an endowment of c.£1bn and currently commits around £35 to £40 million annually in funding to over 300 diverse organisations. In addition, the Foundation has a social investment fund (£35 million) which makes investments which have a social as well as financial return.    

This role will play a key role in providing wide-ranging administrative support to the Foundation and crucially will act as a first point of contact for its grantees relating to process or system issues which they may be experiencing. This will entail a great deal of telephone and email communication, problem solving, utilising and updating the database (Salesforce), tracking payments and supporting Grants Managers in systematically managing grant payments and reports. There will also be wider administrative responsibilities involved to support the 29 strong executive team as and when required.    

This key role will require someone who has a natural intellectual curiosity in the charity and voluntary sector. This person could have gained experience in either the corporate or charity sectors and will have a firm foundation of administration under their belt. In addition this person will be highly organised, articulate and solutions driven with a positive and pragmatic approach. An outstanding communicator would succeed within this position, somebody who is also calm and approachable with an efficient and professional manner. This role is offered on a maternity contract for up to 12 months.
