The WI is the largest women’s organisation with almost 220,000 members. It plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and a chance to build new skills and campaign on issues that matter to them.
For over 100 years, the WI has been inspiring women to change things for the better, take on new challenges and make a difference to their lives, the lives of people around them and the wider community.
This is a senior staff role reporting to the General Secretary. It has responsibility for the Finance team covering both our London Headquarters and Denman College in Oxfordshire. You will oversee all aspects of the finance function of the NFWI, ensuring that best practice is maintained throughout and the requirements of the charity SORP are met.
You will work closely with the Honorary Treasurer, keeping her up to date with any relevant information as well as advise the board on financial policies and management issues. You will also provide advice to the wider WI organization on regional and local levels.
With a solid background of working in charity finance and of financial management accounting, you will be a technically strong accountant with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels and have the credibility to lead a team successfully. You will take a positive approach to your role and will have the ability to influence others and maintain a calm manner when under pressure.
