Eden Brown is delighted to be representing a well-loved Regional children's charity, supporting them in their search for a Data Protection Manager, on a 6 month fixed term contract. As the charity prepares for the introduction of the general data protection regulation (GDPR) in May of next year, you will be responsible for managing this, which will be one of the most important projects the charity is facing.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for creating and managing a project strategy on how the charity delivers and implements the new data protection ruling. Working proactively with the wider fundraising team, you will encourage exemplary data management and provide expert advice on best practice. You will ensure that all staff have appropriate training in data protection issues and that appropriate security measures and key policies are in place to manage personal data.

About you

In order to be considered to deliver this pivotal project you must be a reliable and experienced project manager who will be able to quickly grasp data collection and storage. An aptitude for collaborative work with key stakeholders is paramount, as is an ability to improve and implement clear guidance for the future.

The successful candidate must have:

-Experience of data protection legislation and policy and procedure development and implementation.
-Proven ability to work autonomously and a strong track record of delivering results.
-Excellent analytical skills including the ability to audit systems and procedures in a systematic and efficient way and to provide appropriate recommendations for improvement.
-Strong influencing skills, experience working at all levels across an organisation, and experience of engaging strategically with external stakeholders such as regulators.
-A data protection qualification is desirable
