The Organisation

Our client, a global energy and commodities organisation, continues to fund projects through their well established Foundation, focusing on enabling children living in deprivation to reach their full potential by escaping the cycle of poverty. To date they have funded over 200 projects in over 100 countries worldwide

The role

The Foundation is now recruiting for an experienced and engaged individual to manage their Education portfolio, with an overall goal to improve children's lives and contribute to positive change. Key responsibilities include:

- Strategic oversight and management of the Education Portfolio and Budget

- Proactively identify and engage with a broad range of appropriate funding partners and organisations supporting initiatives in contexts most in need

- Support prospective grantees on technical and financial proposal development

- Manage application and assessment process for all prospective Education funding initiatives

- Monitoring and evaluation of all existing and potential investments

- On-going engagement and interaction with key players within international Education sector through conferences, networking events and fundraising

- Work with a small team on strategy, learning and systems development

- Willingness to travel for field visits and overseas conferences

The Person

- Experience within a similar grant making role

- Substantial programme management experience in the field

- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the global Education context and of issues surrounding education delivery in the developing world

- Excellent knowledge and experience of working in developing countries within the development sector with education sector experience

- Master's degree in International Development or another relevant subject

- IT proficiency (specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and preferably Salesforce)
