As three independent grant-making charities, the Francis C Scott Charitable Trust, The Sir James & Lady Scott Trust and the Frieda Scott Charitable Trust are dedicated to building stronger communities and improving the life chances of individuals and communities in Cumbria, North Lancashire and Bolton. Led by a single Director who oversees the work of all three Trusts, we primarily fund small to medium-sized organisations with a range of grants. The largest of the three Trusts, the Francis C Scott Charitable Trust, focusses on disadvantaged children and young people from the most deprived communities in our region.
£60,000 - £65,000
As our current Director retires after 15 years, we are looking for a new Director to lead the three Trusts forward, acting as an ambassador, ensuring strategic grant giving is effective and in line with our priorities and supporting the Trustees in fulfilling their governance and legal obligations.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader with excellent engagement and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong and valued relationships with a wide range of people across the sector and beyond. You will also bring strong financial literacy, analytical skills and general business acumen to make sound judgements on projects, grant making and financial management. An understanding of the challenges facing communities within Cumbria, North Lancashire and Bolton and a passion for effecting change to improve lives will be essential.
