The Healthy Living Centre CIC (HLC) is a well-established, vibrant social enterprise based in Aylesbury, Bucks. It provides a range of health and wellbeing services throughout the county. The organisation is in a period of growth and development and the post holder will play a pivotal role in this.
As Chief Executive you will be responsible for the strategic direction and financial stability of the organisation and will be the principal point of contact with the Board. Working with the Board you will develop the organisation in order to improve the health and well-being of both the local and wider communities and to provide services that are relevant, financially sustainable and which continue to add value to the work of The Healthy Living Centre.
You will be responsible for identifying and securing funding from a variety of sources to ensure business plans are achieved and to enable expansion of the Centre’s activities and services. The role will require sound business knowledge including developing strategy, setting and implementing performance targets and strategic objectives and financial management including the ability to manage budgets and cash flow of project-funded initiatives.
Supported by an enthusiastic and committed management team you will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the company’s strategic business and marketing plans agreed by the Board.
To provide strategic organisation leadership supporting the building and maintenance of positive relationships with key stakeholders and community partners to proactively work to improve the health and wellbeing of all service users
To identify, create and develop funding opportunities and partnerships to support the work of the Healthy Living Centre in line with strategic direction and key objectives
To oversee staff management and supervision and all HR related activities, both directly and through delegated line management
To develop and implement a strategic business plan and subsequent promotion and marketing of the Centre’s activities
Be responsible for the production of a viable and sustainable three-year Business/Marketing Plan and report progress against targets to the Board
Make applications to grant-making bodies and trusts and other sources of income to generate sufficient funds to ensure financial sustainability of the organisation
Promote the organisation to stakeholders and potential stakeholders, actively networking and pursuing development opportunities in order to generate business
Oversee the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and have overall responsibility for deployment of financial resources including cash flow
Ensure effective data management to support the reporting requirements of funders
Establish formal contractual relationships, including Service Level Agreements, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and have lead responsibility for Healthy Living Centre funds across all external contracts and agreements
Manage, motivate and develop the senior management team through regular supervision and appraisal meetings.
Receive weekly updates from Managers at Management Team Meetings, including performance against budgets
Promote a positive atmosphere within the organisation, celebrating success, effort and achievements at all times
Be accountable for correct procedures and policies relating to safeguarding and health and safety, ensuring they are regularly updated, reporting any issues to the Board where appropriate
Prepare an Annual Report to present to the Annual General Meeting
Attend relevant evening and weekend meetings and events as required, including social events organised by partners and stakeholders and to act as Duty Manager on a rota basis to allow extended opening hours at the Centre
Act as responsible key holder for The Healthy Living Centre and Walton Court Community Centre, ensuring security is maintained
Attend training programmes, development opportunities and Board meeting initiatives as required
Other duties as deemed necessary and as required by the Board of Directors
This post requires enhanced DBS and access to own vehicle
