Strategic Planning Manager
What the job involves
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our newly created Insight and Experience team at one of the UK’s most progressive and successful charities. With the brief to support the organisation in raising awareness of prostate cancer and increasing income to fund vital research, you will play a key role in delivering our new Engagement Strategy. As a senior member of the team, you will support the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s communication plans, ensuring that they support directorate and organisational strategies.
You will support and manage a Strategic Communications Plan to drive awareness of prostate cancer, awareness of Prostate Cancer UK’s support services, supporter engagement, retention and loyalty by putting the individual at the heart of all we do, driving joined up, consistent messaging.
Working with senior leaders, you will develop engagement communications, ensuring that audience insight is at the heart of the communications plan. Key to this will be driving the development of effective communication journeys that inform, inspire, motivate and deliver against the audience strategy. Management of the new communications calendar will be paramount, as you will be ensuring that planned activity is appropriate and on strategy, keeping a mindful eye to ensure that different activities do not conflict to detract from the impact of our communications to the audiences.
What we want from you
You will be a high-level strategic thinker, with exceptional stakeholder management skills, who is passionate about the use of insights to help drive communications planning and execution. Your previous experience within the charity sector in a similar communications planning role will be a key asset.
You will have extensive experience developing and implementing individual journey strategies across a range of offline and digital channels, assessing needs at different stages of the individual journey.
You will have a sophisticated understanding of the role that content plays in delivering a valued experience for individuals and have experience in using a wide range of different content types to increase engagement. You will have experience in developing and implementing structured testing plans that examine both behavioural and emotional responses to the different types of communications.
You will have experience at developing and managing strategic projects, working across teams and organisational boundaries to identify new ways to optimise efficiency and effectiveness. You will be able to identify and manage project pressures, issues and risks and possess excellent prioritisation skills, based on an understanding of our audience.
