Providing advocacy and user involvement services across England, they are a growing organisation working with people who are vulnerable or marginalised to raise their voices and have their rights respected. 

Position: Advocate 
Location: Moulton Park, Northampton 
Job Type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 15 hours per week (to be worked on Wednesdays and Fridays) 
Salary: £21,000 to £25,700 pa (pro rata)

About the role: 

The Advocate role is concerned with strengthening voices, championing rights and changing lives of people who may be marginalised or vulnerable. The Advocate would normally report to the Service Manager or Managing Advocate and would be responsible for providing a direct service to gain positive outcomes for people along with wider impacts. 

This role requires the job holder to be able to travel widely across Northamptonshire to meet the requirements of the Service. 

About you: 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting people to ensure equality and respect and have a background or understanding of advocacy and experience and / or knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act alongside local and national safeguarding policies and practice 

Experience of Advocacy and experience in the Charity and Third Sector experience would be an advantage, as would experience of IAQ; IAQ with specialisms of IMHA or Care Act. It would also be beneficial if you have knowledge of the Action for Advocacy Code of Practice, Advocacy Code of Practice and the ability to manage change and guide people through change. 

You may have experience of the following: Advocate, NHS, Vulnerable Adults, IAQ, Charity, Third Sector, Social Worker, IMCA, DOLS, RPR, Legislation, Policy, Support Worker, Healthcare etc.
