This medical membership body are looking for a policy manager to come and joint heir team on a 12 month contract to cover for a maternity leave. Within this role you can looking forward to contributing the organisations corporate and strategic policy agenda. You will be ensuring that their approach is consistent with their principles with the aim of protecting their members. You will be helping to shape regulation within the field, through developing ideas, commissioning research, working with external stakeholders and responding to consultations.
You will be acquiring and applying policy expertise in a range of agreed regulation policy areas to contribute to the organisations policy development. You will also be identifying risks in the external environment that require policy consideration, and lead on the intelligence gathering and evidence building for regulation policy development. Furthermore, you will be providing policy advice to operational teams, and build and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
- Policy development in a complex environment and communicate this in an accessible way to a wide range of audiences
- Experience in project/programme management
- Experience of reading and understanding legislative texts and regulatory procedures and rules
- Desirable - knowledge of the health and social care sector and an understanding of how healthcare professionals are regulated
