Support Worker Nights / Care Worker (Charity / Learning Disabilities) 

Supporting someone with personal care, to helping them make informed choices.

Our client is a national charity that’s been supporting people with learning disabilities since 1962. They put the people they support at the centre of everything they do and use their experience to work in partnership with them to provide personalised services to more than 2500 people.

Position: Waking Night Support Worker 
Hours: Shifts 10.30 pm – 7.00 am or 11.00 pm - 7.30 am (can vary) 
Location: Stroud and Stonehouse, Gloucestershire 
Salary: £7.73 - £8.18 per hour (dependent on successful completion of probation and completing NVQ Level 2)

About the role: Waking Night Support Workers are required to remain awake throughout the night to support individuals as required. You could be supporting someone with personal care, helping someone with their medication or just chatting and keeping them company if they are unable to sleep. 

About you: You don’t need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job; what matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their own life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible. 

What they can offer you: It’s helpful if you already have experience of dementia, autism and learning disabilities – but this is by no means essential as they will give you a comprehensive induction, full training and support. With Investors in People and Skills for Care accreditation they are committed to investing in their teams to ensure that they have the specialist skills and expertise needed to support people with the most complex needs to live the best life possible. 

They provide 24/7 support to people, so this role will require you to work shifts and hours that include some weekends and Bank Holidays.
