Are you an experienced Head of Learning and People Development or in a similar role and looking for your next challenge? 

Our client has an exciting opportunity of Head of Learning and People Development to support the Director of People and Organisational Development in the strategic development and alignment of their workforce, both paid and unpaid, culture, processes and systems.  The post holder will be instrumental in leading the learning and development service to meet the present needs of the organisation and to manage the people development programme to deliver a planned and systematic approach to enabling sustained organisational performance.

Our client is the leading provider of end of life services in Somerset. Their track record of investing in high quality and caring support means they are one of the UK’s largest Hospices.

They deliver care for over 3,200 people each year who face a life limiting illness. Only 25% of their costs are supported by the NHS. The rest is provided by charitable income through their fundraising, their shops and from donations. Their pioneering services depend upon the best people who can innovate and provide the best care possible for patients and their families.

They are passionate about engaging their  people in learning and development opportunities and supporting all in the organisation to achieve their potential. They have a dedicated, combined workforce of over 1,600 people, approximately 425 paid employees and over 1,200 volunteers whose commitment and skills combined with their collective passion and energy enable coordinated care and support to those with end-of-life needs. 

The successful applicant will lead the development, planning, promotion, delivery and assessment of learning and development across the organisation.  They are looking for an experienced individual with a background in Learning and People Development, ideally in a health or social care or related environment.  In return they offer a rewarding role in a stimulating and positive working environment, the opportunity to develop new skills and the satisfaction of supporting the team to make each day count for individuals and families in Somerset.
