Volunteering Project Worker 

Our client supports people who face disadvantage or discrimination to have a voice that counts. Providing advocacy and user involvement services across England, they are a growing organisation working with people who are vulnerable or marginalised to raise their voices and have their rights respected. 

Position: Volunteering Project Worker 
Location: Cambridge 
Job Type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 30 hours per week 
Salary: Up to £22,500 pro rata

About the role: 

The Project Worker will provide administration support to the volunteer project and the Coordinator to ensure an efficient and well-run service. You will support the Coordinator in such administrative tasks as may be necessary to ensure a smooth-running service. 

Additionally you will act as a point of contact for volunteers, liaising with them and the Volunteer Co-ordinator as necessary. You will book rooms, make diary arrangements and support the team as necessary and co-ordinate paperwork and input records onto the database as required to ensure prompt and accurate records. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working in partnership with volunteers / people with lived experience. You will also have experience of managing office and administrative processes and significant experience of using a wide range of information technology to support effective business communications, information retrieval and dissemination. 

You will have demonstrable experience of working with people across disciplines and at a variety of levels, including liaising with people externally. You will be able to demonstrate a high standard of effective interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills using a wide range of media (and none) both individually and with groups. You will also be computer literate, confident IT skills and highly proficient typing ability, including good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and an ability to adapt and develop effective and appropriate electronic administrative systems on own initiative. 

It would be an advantage if you have a high standard of general education and an understanding of health, social or voluntary sectors. A personal understanding of disability or long-term health conditions would also be beneficial as would a driving licence and access to a car.
