Description

The key responsibilities of this Case for Support Officer will be:

  • Responsible for developing fundraising project briefs, monitoring and reporting on the progress of funded projects and providing a bank of information about current and new services to all areas of Fundraising
  • To support the fundraising team by identifying, collating and maintaining a database of projects that reflect current service provision and planned future developments
  • To translate these plans into project briefs and compelling case for support materials with accompanying project information, data, costings and case studies for teams to offer to their supporters, providing the platform for significant growth within Fundraising
  • To provide support to service delivery teams to ensure that projects are progressing according to the terms of the funding secured, and provide accurate, up-to-date monitoring reports to fundraisers during, and on completion, of projects.
  • To build strong relationships with key internal teams, including High Value Philanthropy (Trusts, Major Donors & Partnerships) Fundraising Teams, Service Delivery Teams, Finance, Policy and Campaigns and Marcomms in order to gather accurate information and data to support the development of new projects and services
  • To lead on the gathering and use of service user stories and other materials that can be used to enhance the case for support
  • To support bespoke service information requests from fundraising teams ranging from short concise descriptions of small scale projects, to in-depth analytical explanations of the organisation's work in complex areas of development
  • To produce an annual 'shopping list' of fundable items reflecting the organisation's core services
  • To maintain a bank of facts and statistics about core services that can be accessed by fundraisers to effectively demonstrate the reach and impact of our work
  • To ensure proposals are checked, validated and signed-off prior to use
  • To track all funding applications made and income received against specific projects and provide detailed feedback for donors on project implementation and development
  • To support processes for tracking and monitoring restricted donations in order to ensure compliance with fundraising regulations

Profile

The person specification for this Case for Support Officer is:

  • At least two years' experience working within a fundraising team, preferably supporter facing
  • Good knowledge of a range of different fundraising disciplines; knowledge of trusts, major donors and corporate partnerships would be an advantage
  • Experience of project-based fundraising or of developing and writing successful fundraising applications/proposals within a large fundraising team
  • Experience of creating and implementing new processes and procedures and changing working practices
  • A good understanding of, and strong interest in, the health and social care sector, in particular the opportunities for innovation in an increasingly personalised market
  • A good understanding of financial planning and experience of preparing income and expenditure budgets and allocating overheads
  • Experience of project management and ability to work to and meet deadlines
  • Experience of creating and using complex spreadsheets, and using contact management databases
  • Excellent written skills including the ability to translate large volumes of information into accessible and accurate proposals/briefs understandable by non-experts
  • Ability to write compelling copy for a range of audiences
  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship development skills with an ability to establish an internal network at all levels across a large organisation
  • Highly numerate, with strong Excel skills, including the ability to produce and manage complex spreadsheets and pivot tables
  • Excellent written communication skills with strong use of grammar and punctuation
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to develop collaborative and productive relationships
