Position: Social Care Workshop Leader
Contract: Self Employed Contract
About the role:
Working closely with the Social Care Team you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality workshops at the client's centre. The sessions will enable participants (members) to develop their skills, build confidence, develop their creativity and have the opportunity to showcase their work both internally and externally of the Centre.
You will develop outcome focused session that enhance individuals’ health and wellbeing and that are delivered in accordance with out member’s individual needs and wishes. Members will have a range of support needs, including learning disabilities, mental health support needs, including older people and those with physical disabilities and complex needs.
In particular we are looking for facilitators who can deliver workshops in Dance/Movement, Drama, Physical Activity/Yoga/Exercise, Music Sessions, Singing, Cooking Health Eating, Nutrition, Art Based Sessions, Video Making, Photography, Inclusive Sports/Games and Massage.
To be considered for this role you will have a good level basic education and training, including 5 GCSE’s or an equivalent professional qualification. You will have a professional qualification relevant to teaching or the workshop being delivered (as appropriate)
Experience of facilitating workshops or group activities is required for this role, as is the ability to support people to learn and develop new skills and achieve positive outcomes. Experience of working in a diverse and multicultural environment is required and you will have the ability to develop relationships with a variety of people and work with them in a positive and cooperative way.
It is desirable that you have experience of working with vulnerable clients specifically people with learning disabilities, mental health support needs, older people and people with physical disabilities.
