Director of Fundraising
Director of Fundraising
Church Urban Fund
Salary: up to £60,000 + benefits
Location: Westminster (flexible working considered)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced fundraiser to join our growing team at Church Urban Fund.
CUF was established by the Church of England as a practical response to unmet need and has been active in local communities for over 30 years. Our vision is to see people and communities all over England flourish and enjoy life in all its fullness. We work through local parish networks, and alongside other faith-based and secular organisations, to bring about positive and sustainable change.
Our success rests on our approach to building trust, empowering local people to have a go at addressing the areas of greatest need in their communities and speaking out against injustice. We are committed to working through relational partnerships which bring about long-term, sustainable change by mobilising local people to be the source of the change they want to see and to use the assets already available in their community.
In order to respond to the shape of welfare changes, we have been through a period of transformation and renewal; moving from a grant making trust to a UK development agency which will ensure our vision to secure healthy and flourishing communities is achieved. Following the success of our networking and fundraising, we are increasing the size of our existing works, building new programmes of activity and growing our team.
CUF is a well-funded charity, however, our core programmes rely on the support of a small number of large donors to sustain them. We are seeking a new Director of Fundraising to work directly to the Managing Director and with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to lead the development and implementation of a five-year funding strategy that supports our strategic goal to increase income across our development portfolio. Our new Director of Fundraising will be instrumental in embedding a culture of fundraising across the organisation to enable our joint venture organisations to become self-sustaining.
As someone comfortable working in a changing environment, you will thrive on leading and developing new funding opportunities. Our new fundraising strategy will shift us towards digital and events, so the ideal candidate will have experience of the latest trends in digital marketing and, with specialist support, will have both the creative and technical skills to deliver a digital fundraising strategy. Experience in the design and delivery of fundraising events will complement our strength in building relationships with new supporters who want to further our work and its impact.
This is a truly fantastic opportunity to work with an established, yet agile and developing charity to lead and inspire our future fundraising activities.
