Communications Manager 

Founded in 1937 our client has grown from a club to be a major force in British medicine. With over three thousand members drawn from various healthcare professions the organisation focusses on the promotion of gastroenterology and hepatology within the United Kingdom. 

Position: Communications Manager 
Location: London 
Contract type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract (with possibility of extension) 
Hours: Full Time 
Salary: circa £35k per annum

Interview date: 27th -28th September (provisionally) 

About the Role: 

The Communications Manager will develop and implement an internal and external communications strategy including key message development, focussing on the core pillars of our client's strategy. You will put in place an operational plan for a variety of communications channels and associated processes, to disseminate messages and materials for internal (members) and external audiences. 

Additionally you will put in place a proactive programme of engagement with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to support the creation of website and other content for internal and external use. You will also contribute to the development and marketing of membership benefits and events (particularly its annual conferences) and establish a press office and media relations function. 

About You: 

The successful candidate will be degree educated, ideally you will also hold a Chartered qualification in communications or marketing. You must have internal and external communications as well as stakeholder engagement. Experience of membership bodies would be an advantage, as would corporate communications and digital communications / marketing experience. 

You will be analytical and detail orientated and able to communicate succinctly both verbally and in writing. You will also have sound time management skills and be able to multi-task and prioritise your workload. Additionally you will have a strong skillset with Microsoft Word and Excel and be confident using a variety of office equipment and social media platforms.
