<p>To work with the Chair and Trustee board to develop the charity’s strategic direction and business plan and report regularly on its implementation. To be responsible for ensuring sufficient income is generated to enable the charity to develop and deliver its services to young people and meet business plan objectives. To hold management oversight of all areas of the organisations activities, including operations, HR, administration, finance, and fundraising, ensuring high standards of practice and full compliance with the law and regulations at all times. To hold lead management responsibility for safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection. To represent the charity, promoting positive relationships with external stakeholders including funders, commissioners, partners and supporters and upholding the professional reputation, values and integrity of the organisation. To provide strong leadership, inspiring and motivating staff and volunteers to continuously deliver high quality services to young people&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Strategic </strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the Chair and Trustees to provide good governance of the charity &nbsp;</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Maintain a professional relationship with the Chair and Trustees ensuring reports are informative and timely and appropriate approvals are sought</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Develop the charity’s strategic business plan and ensure managers, staff and volunteers deliver its aims and objectives</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ensure the charity fulfils its statutory and regulatory responsibilities in all areas of its work</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Represent the charity at relevant professional meetings, groups etc. and seek opportunities for effective partnership working</li> </ul> <p><strong>Finance </strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee development of the annual budget, ensure the charity operates within the parameters of the budget, and ensure accurate financial management &nbsp;reports and forecasts are provided as required</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ensure appropriate independent examination of the charity accounts and submission of the annual report and accounts</li> </ul> <p><strong>Income generation </strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and drive a sustained approached to income generation to continuously ensure sufficient funds to manage, develop and deliver the charity’s services</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Be the ‘public face’ of the charity in the external environment and maintain positive relationships including with statutory authority elected members, managers and commissioners, funders and grant managers, community group representatives etc.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>HR</strong></p> <ul> <li>Define an effective organisational structure and recruit and deploy staff accordingly</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Provide professional management supervision of the operations and finance managers, fundraising staff, and other staff as required</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Delegate management responsibility appropriately ensuring clear/supportive line management arrangements and professional supervision for all staff and volunteers</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ensure the continuous professional development of managers, staff and volunteers through training to enhance the skills and capability of the workforce</li> </ul> <p><strong>Operations &amp; Administration </strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure an effective up to date policy and procedural framework covering all areas of the charity’s work is in place and that it is regularly reviewed and updated</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Oversee effective quality assurance of the charity’s work</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ensure effective feedback and active participation of service users and other key stakeholders</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Hold lead management responsibility for safeguarding children and young people using the charity’s services, ensuring managers and staff are appropriately trained and policy, procedure and practice is consistent with local statutory safeguarding policy, procedure and guidance &nbsp;</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Hold lead management responsibility for data protection in accordance with relevant legislation, ensuring adherence by staff and volunteers &nbsp;</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Hold lead management responsibility for the health and safety of staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and other stakeholders</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as required</li> </ul> <p><strong>General</strong></p> <ul> <li>Represent the values of IYC at all times</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Work in a non-discriminatory manner in accordance with IYC’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policies</li> <li>Continue professional development through training and supervision</li> </ul>
