Echo Cornwall is a registered charity and has been supporting the Echo Centre for over 25 years providing services for people with a physical disability in South East Cornwall attending the Echo Centre, Liskeard, run by Cornwall County Council. The Trustees are seeking to implement a strategy to independently offer services to the wider community, both on site and at community based locations. Over the last year Echo Cornwall has started the strategy and has been running a programme for people diagnosed with dementia, the Turning the Cogs programme has several sessions a week and serves a client base of around 50. As well as this the Charity also supports a group encouraging independent living skills to a mixed ability group.
In building on this success the Charity now seeks to appoint a DEVELOPMENT OFFICER on a one year contract, renewable subject to meeting performance criteria, offering a competitive salary to the right person, this post will be based at the Echo Centre, Liskeard.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and be responsible to the Trustees for developing and implementing a three year income generation strategy and contribute to building a robust longer term strategic plan for the Charity, raising its profile in the community and possibly redefine the current relationship with Cornwall Council.
We are looking for a motivated individual who can bring experience of working with vulnerable groups in the voluntary sector together with the relevant business and management skills to make a success of this exciting and unique challenge.
