The Independent Living Fund Scotland is a growing, multi-award winning organisation fully funded by the Scottish Government and Northern Ireland Administration. With a staff team of 43, it provides award management services for approximately 3,000 people throughout Scotland and 600 throughout Northern Ireland, supporting them to lead independent lives.

ILF Scotland provides excellent and flexible customer service, facilitating service users to continue to exercise choice and control and to use their funding in an outcomes-focused way to lead independent lives.

This amazing organisation will launch a new fund scheme towards the end of this year. The Scotland Transitions Fund will be a broad discretionary fund that will provide short-term awards to support disabled people to live independently. In its first phase, the scheme will focus on supporting young people aged 16 to 21, who are at an important transitional stage in their lives.

The scheme aims, in this initial first phase, to provide an opportunity for young disabled people to achieve goals which empower them to actively contribute to their communities and facilitate their participation in society, creating a lasting impact on their lives. As a result of this exciting development, ILF Scotland is now looking to add a Specialist Caseworker to its team.

This is an amazing opportunity for you to help pioneer a new and very high profile co-produced service with disabled young people to transition to an independent adult life, while also maintaining the excellent reputation that ILF Scotland has built since coming into operation.

This role will have responsibility for the accurate and effective management of approximately 500 – 600 complex and diverse cases in relation to the allocation of awards (with a value of £6.5 million to £8 million) covering Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Educated to at least SVQ 4 level, you will have significant experience of social care, welfare rights and benefits in relation to self-directed support and relevant policies.

If you have the skills we are looking for and would like to join ILF Scotland at such an important point in its journey, please contact us today.
