Who are we?
The Furniture Makers’ Company, is the charity for the UK furnishing industry. Its mission is to champion and support the industry by, helping those in need, educating for the future, and driving excellence. We are entering an exciting phase of growth, with our team increasing from 8 to 12 members of staff in order to meet our goals. As the Financial Controller you will be a vital part of that team and key to the organisation successfully delivering its ambitious plans.
What does the position involve?
You will be responsible for administrating the day to day accounts of The Furniture Maker’s Company and its subsidiaries so as to ensure the finances are effectively managed and accurate and timely information is available for those who require it. You will also provide support and advice to the Chief Executive and Treasurer.
What do we want?
- An ambitious and recently qualified accountant who wants to take on some serious responsibility. You will need to be well organised, have exemplary numeracy skills and also enjoy working as part of a small dynamic team.
- You need to be a self-starter with the confidence to work with autonomy and give clear advice, but you must also know when to seek assistance or ask for guidance.
- Enthusiasm is key and you must be prepared to ‘muck in’ when required at a variety of events and functions.
- Experience of both management and financial accounting is vital and we expect strong excel skills and experience using SAGE 50 accounts.
