Senior Bid Manager

We are a well-respected, small (but fast-growing) consultancy specialising in supporting charities, social enterprises and public/private sector clients to deliver social impact. We are seeking a talented individual to take our Bid Services business to the next level of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and managing excellent quality bids
  • Delivering exceptional client satisfaction and value for money
  • Contributing to overall business strategy and supporting new client acquisition
  • Managing and growing our roster of associate bid writers, bid managers and subject matter experts
  • Recruiting, training and managing Bid Services staff
  • Managing bid projects to successful completion and delivering wins for our clients
  • Managing Bid Services P&L
  • Managing our combined pipeline across all client bid projects
  • Supporting on other business growth activities as and when required
  • Identification of upcoming sector specific bidding opportunities / policy drivers and promoting to clients
  • Preparing client specific proposals / business cases, including resourcing, costing and timescales.
  • Following the wider public sector outsourcing landscape

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Proven ability to meet and exceed (internal or external) client expectations
  • Previous experience of bid writing and bid management to an exceptional standard
  • Ability to sell our services to clients
  • Experience of managing internal and external project teams, including teams across client organisations and locations
  • Experience in managing multiple clients and workloads simultaneously
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Ability work effectively with operational and corporate services functions and to support the design of delivery models
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to innovate, problem solve and adapt to changing customer needs
  • Ability to negotiate and influence outcomes, internally and externally
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills   

Desirable:

  • Experience of charity, social enterprise, or social regeneration (youth services, social justice, supporting disadvantaged groups, etc.) sectors is desirable but not essential

Qualifications

  • APMP Practitioner or Professional accreditation desirable

Remuneration

  • Salary range: up to £45K plus profit-sharing plus potential share in the business for the right candidate
  • The successful candidate’s career progression will be rapid

Location

  • London-based with expectations of travel for client work
