The RSPCA is the largest animal welfare charity in England and Wales. Our purpose as the RSPCA is to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate suffering of all animals.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to lead the development of a  new strategy for RSPCA events, creating an exciting new portfolio for events that will engage and increase involvement from animal welfare supporters..

We are looking for the Head of Events to increase income from our events to over £1m in the next 3 years, working on the creation of new RSPCA Branded events as well as exploring all appropriate ‘in aid of events’ for us to support.

The main responsibilities of the post include:

Leading a team of 3, you will deliver a range of fundraising events throughout the year.

Creative development of new RSPCA branded events, including budget management, marketing materials, event delivery and stewardship communications.

You will creating exciting and innovative marketing plans to support new events as well as promoting in aid of fundraising, engaging with existing supporters as well are creating new supporters who are passionate about ending animal cruelty.

You will develop engaging stewardship programmes, allowing the supporter to know where the donation is being used as well as encourage them to support the RSPCA in other ways, whether that is through other events, volunteering etc.

Working with the Fundraising Senior Management team, you will support on high profile events as well as cultivation events for Major Donors and Corporates.

The successful applicant should have/be:

Degree level education in event management/development

Extensive experience in delivery high quality fundraising events, with a proven track record of driving income

Experience on developing engaging supporter journeys and stewardship programmes that meet the needs and wants of the supporter, improving their lifetime experience with the RSPCA.

You must have great project management skills, budgeting and negotiating experience and be a strong team leader.
