ABOUT US

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity.  We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife.

Our Membership Development Officers work hard to engage with thousands of new supporters each year, increasing our fundraising income and enabling us to do what we do best; protect, create and restore the UK’s native woodland.

THE ROLE

Our fundraisers are present at our woodland sites and other events positively promoting the Woodland Trust and informing the public about the wonderful things we do.  It’s not all about numbers, the team genuinely love the natural world and inspire people to support our cause without them feeling pressured.

There’s nothing standard about the work either, each day is different. You could be working on your own or as part of a team, outside or inside. The working week is varied and includes weekends, bank holidays and unsociable hours, but it’s worthwhile.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re recruiting for Membership Development Officers across the UK and a Membership Development Lead for the South of England.

To succeed you’ll need:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with people.
  • Some experience working in a fundraising or sales driven environment
  • Environmental awareness with a passion for woods and trees.
  • Resilience and be able to work to targets.
  • To be engaging and able to effectively persuade people to support the Trust.

IN RETURN

You’ll be part of a fantastic team dedicated to supporting our work to protect woods and trees. We recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a 6% contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.

These roles are permanent with varying hours to suit. The Lead Membership Development Officer is permanent a full time role.

We will be conducting a rolling programme of recruitment and reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high number of applicants. Please apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
