Our client is a national charity dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to adults with learning disabilities. 

Position: Support Worker 
Location: Chatteris, Cambridgeshire 
Contract type: Permanent 
Hours: Full & Part time hours avalible 
Salary: £7.62 per hour 
Benefits: 28 days annual leave (increasing with service) inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata for part time staff), contributory pension scheme, excellent training and development opportunities, childcare vouchers, employee assistance scheme and occupational health support. 

About the Role:    They are looking for staff to provide support for a young man living in the Chatteris area. The service itself is supported living. 

The young man has a learning disability and associated communication difficulties. 

You may also be asked to provide support in some or all of the following areas: 
-Support with shopping, assisting with budgeting 
-Building/maintaining relationships with friends and family 
-Household tasks like cooking, cleaning and laundry 
-Personal Care, e.g. helping someone to bathe 
- Social and emotional support 

Sharing your interests and hobbies with the people you will provide support for and helping them to access their local community. 

Their staff tell them that “No two days are the same…We might be at the supermarket on Tuesday, the football on Saturday and losing our voices at a rock concert…!” 

About You: 

As part of your role you will be supporting people with full and sometimes intimate personal care, so we are looking for people who are able to demonstrate dignity and respect for the individuals they are supporting, whilst promoting independence. 

You will need to work flexibly and participate in shift work, including weekends and Bank holidays 

Due to community participation drivers are an essential for this vacancy. 

For this role you need to be patient, have good sense of humour and be able to support people through good and bad days.
