Our client has just launched a new Corporate strategy, growing the organisation and working tirelessly towards solving the housing crisis.

It’s their colleagues that make it a great place to work, along with brilliant management, senior leadership and the professional and personal development opportunities available. This has led to them being recognised as 12th in the Times Top 100 Best Organisations to work for 2017.

They are currently seeking a Financial Responsibility Officer to join their team. The main purpose of this role is to provide support to residents with regards to benefits and budgeting to ensure rent is paid as a priority. Your main responsibilities will include providing one to one advice and support, as well as practical assistance with making claims for benefits such as Universal Credit, Housing Benefit etc. You will also help identify vulnerable customers and support them as necessary to ensure the successful outcome of claims and assist with mandatory reconsiderations when claims have failed. You will be required to assist the Incomes Team with arrears cases in order to resolve cases and sustain tenancies. You will support residents to access free budgeting and debt advice and refer to partner agencies as needed. You will support new residents at “Sign Up”, explaining tenancy conditions, payment expectations and assisting with benefit claims.

The successful candidate will have worked within a customer advice role previously and should have an understanding of Welfare Benefits. Experience of working within a housing environment would be advantageous but is not essential. You will be a confident communicator who can liaise effectively with people at all levels and you will be organised, numerate and solution orientated with the ability to influence.

You should have a full UK driving licence (preferably clean) with access to a vehicle for work purposes and the ability to undertake national and regional travel as necessary.

The closing date for this role is Friday 25th August.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 12th September.
