Director of Communications and Development
At Humanists UK, our dream is of a tolerant world where rational thinking and kindness prevail. Our dedicated staff of 25 and hundreds of volunteers work hard to achieve this aim and we now have a vacancy for a Director of Communications and Development to head up one of our most vital teams.
Our communications and development work is at the heart of what we do. Our regular cash appeals and supporter recruitment are what enable us to exist as a charitable organisation; our social media channels are the way we win support for our advocacy work; and effective marketing is essential to the delivery of our community services.
Is this the job for you?
Are you a proven communicator with a track record of both formulating and delivering effective marketing, communications, or fundraising strategies? You may come from any sector, although experience within the not-for-profit and charity sector would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of data-driven segmentation of audiences in a variety of contexts.
We have ambitious goals on a modest budget and, to be successful, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to be resourceful and dynamic, able to give attention to every detail at the same time as taking a broader strategic view and contributing to development of our work at that level. You will manage staff but you will also get stuck into the work of communications, adding capacity to our team. Although not necessarily functionally expert in ICT and databases you will have the confidence to manage senior and expert staff working on this.
If this sounds like you, complete the application form, detailing how you match the person specification on page 5 of the person specification.
