Our client is a national charity dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to adults with learning disabilities. 

Position: Support Worker 
Location: Bromham, Bedfordshire 
Contract type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £7.62 per hour 

About the Role: 

Do you want to be part of a team providing high quality support for individuals with learning disabilities, visual impairment and complex support needs? 

The service itself is a supported living service based in Bromham 

There are a range of shifts available including sleep ins and Waking nights available. 
They are looking for staff who are Patient, have a good sense of humour and who are committed to provide support on good and bad days. 

You may be asked to provide support in some or all of the following areas: 
-Support with shopping, assisting with budgeting 
-Building/maintaining relationships with friends and family 
-Household tasks like cooking, cleaning and laundry 
-Personal Care, e.g. helping someone to bathe 
- Social and emotional support 

Sharing your interests and hobbies with the people you will provide support for and helping them to access their local community. 

Their staff tell them that “No two days are the same…We might be at the supermarket on Tuesday, the football on Saturday and losing our voices at a rock concert…!” 

About You: 

You need to be positive and committed to supporting people and improving people’s lives. It is hard work but amazingly rewarding and to reach your full potential in this role you need to have the right values in working with people and being part of a team. 

Good communication, having a flexible approach, being able to listen and come up new ideas and to support people to plan and to achieve their goals are all essential parts of the role. 

You will be willing to learn and try new things, through both training and team work. 

You may have experience of the following: Support Worker, Bank Support Worker, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Care Worker, Learning Disabilities, Community Care, Not for Profit, NFP, Voluntary Sector, Vulnerable People, Care Assistant, Social Worker etc.
